Meet the team
Ian Alcock

Ian began HR Advice Australia in 2010 with the objective to create an innovative Human Resources support service specifically focused on the needs of small to medium-sized employers. He was motivated to create his own agency as an avenue to bring his expertise to SMEs, following more than thirty years business experience in Australia, the UK and continental Europe.
His business experience includes enterprise leadership and executive management of a number of financial services companies, management consulting, and complex administration service providers. He has also held a number of non-executive board positions and similar roles.
He was appointed a Fellow of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia in 2002, a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 1996 and is a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders.
He is an experienced mentor to business owners and corporate executives. He is a trained and accomplished executive performance coach and DiSC behaviour profiler. He is also an ENS International-trained strategic negotiator.
His rich experience gives him a level of sensitivity that enables him to match his clients’ needs appropriately in a variety of complex scenarios.

Sam joined HR Advice Australia in 2025, bringing a strong background in Human Resources and a passion for helping small to medium-sized businesses thrive. With over four years of management experience, he excels in fostering productive workplace cultures and ensuring businesses are equipped with the tools to manage their HR needs effectively.

Sam holds a Diploma in Human Resources, along with Certificates IV in Youth Work and Human Resources, and has developed expertise in leadership, communication, and process improvement through his experience in team management roles. His focus is on delivering strategic, outcome-driven advice that empowers businesses to navigate complex challenges with confidence.
Sam is dedicated to continuous learning and professional growth, ensuring he remains at the forefront of HR trends and best practices to benefit his clients.
